...STRONG WINDS WILL BUFFET THE BIG ISLAND SUMMITS THIS AFTERNOON...

.THE TIGHT GRADIENT BETWEEN A TROUGH ALOFT TO THE SOUTHEAST OF
THE BIG ISLAND...AND AN UPPER RIDGE JUST NORTH OF THE ISLANDS...
WILL CREATE STRONG WINDS AT THE SUMMITS THIS AFTERNOON. THE WINDS
ARE EXPECTED TO WEAKEN AGAIN TONIGHT AS THE RIDGE SHIFTS SOUTH
TOWARD THE BIG ISLAND.

MPH...ARE EXPECTED AT THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS THIS AFTERNOON. THE
WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO DIMINISH THIS EVENING.
