THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CHEROKEE COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL GEORGIA

* UNTIL 915 PM EDT

* AT 305 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
AN AREA THUNDERSTORMS WITH BRIEF HEAVY RAIN MOVING NORTHEAST AT 
40 MPH OVER CHEROKEE COUNTY. RAINFALL AMOUNTS FROM 1.5 TO 2.5 INCHES
HAS OCCURRED SINCE NOON.

SOME CREEKS INCLUDED IN THE WARNED AREA...SHOAL CREEK...LOST TOWN
CREEK...MOORE CREEK AND BLUFF CREEK.

THE SOIL IS SATURATED FROM PREVIOUS RAINFALL FROM DENNIS AND 
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ADDITIONAL
FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. 
ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF 
CREEKS...STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF FLOOD WATERS. ONLY A FEW INCHES OF
RAPIDLY FLOWING WATER CAN QUICKLY CARRY AWAY YOUR VEHICLE.
