THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  TOWNS COUNTY IN NORTHEAST GEORGIA

* UNTIL 545 PM EDT

* AT 235 PM EDT...EMERGENCY MANANGEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED RAPIDLY
RISING WATER IN THE HIAWASSEE RIVER WHICH IS CAUSING CAMPERS NEAR
THE RIVER TO SEEK HIGHER GROUND. ADDITIONAL RAIN FROM SHOWERS AND A 
FEW THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON WILL CONTINUE TO CAUSE THE 
HIAWASSEE RIVER TO COME OUT OF ITS BANKS AND FLOOD LOW LYING AREAS.

PERSONS ALONG THE VARIOUS CREEKS IN TOWNS COUNTY AND ALONG THE
HIAWASSEE RIVER...ESPECIALLY NEAR THE ENCHANTED VALLEY RESORT AND 
THE PASTURE STORE OFF OF HWY. 75 SHOULD MONITOR THIS SITUATION
CLOSELY AND BE PREPARED TO EVACUATE IF NECESSARY. 

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
