* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WESTERN HAMPDEN COUNTY IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS

* UNTIL 1100 PM EDT

* AT 924 PM EDT...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED THAT FLASH   
FLOODING WAS OCCURRING ON AREA STREAMS IN THE VICINTY OF WESTFIELD 
FROM A THUNDERSTORM NEAR GRANVILLE...OR ABOUT 15 MILES WEST OF 
CHICOPEE...MOVING WEST AT 5 MPH.

* THE THUNDERSTORM PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING WILL BE NEAR...
  GRANVILLE BY 935 PM EDT
  6 MILES SOUTH OF BLANDFORD BY 940 PM EDT
  TOLLAND BY 1025 PM EDT

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS 
AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODS. 
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOODED ROADWAY. THE ROAD COULD BE DAMAGED OR 
WASHED OUT.

FLASH FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AREAS IS LIKELY DUE TO THE TORRENTIAL
RAINFALL. CULVERTS ALONG ROADSIDES MAY BE WASHED OUT. STANDING WATER
ON ROADWAYS AND ESPECIALLY UNDERPASSES MAY RISE TO SEVERAL FEET IN
DEPTH SUBMERGING MOST VEHICLES.
