* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WEST CENTRAL BARNSTABLE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS
  SOUTHEASTERN PLYMOUTH COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS

* UNTIL 530 PM EDT

* AT 226 PM EDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR ESTIMATED 3 INCHES 
  OF RAIN FROM A THUNDERSTORM NEAR MARION AND WAREHAM...ABOUT 10 
  MILES NORTHEAST OF NEW BEDFORD.  THE THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING EAST 
  AT 15 MPH.  ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO THE WEST WILL 
  MOVE OVER THIS SAME AREA.  ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IS 
  POSSIBLE.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER ATTEMPT TO CROSS
BRIDGES OR ROADS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. IT ONLY TAKES A FOOT
OR TWO OF WATER TO WASH MOST CARS AWAY.

FLASH FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AREAS IS LIKELY DUE TO THE TORRENTIAL
RAINFALL. CULVERTS ALONG ROADSIDES MAY BE WASHED OUT. STANDING WATER
ON ROADWAYS AND ESPECIALLY UNDERPASSES MAY RISE TO SEVERAL FEET IN
DEPTH SUBMERGING MOST VEHICLES.
