THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ANCHORAGE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NABESNA AREA OF ALASKA

* UNTIL 1100 PM ADT

* AT 1212 PM ADT...THE PUBLIC REPORTED FLASH FLOODING FROM A   HEAVY 
RAIN NEAR NABESNA. THE STORM PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING WAS NEARLY   
STATIONARY.

* OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO   
SLANA...MENTASTA LAKE AND CHISTOCHINA.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...AS WELL AS LOWLANDS ALONG THE
BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. MOST FLOOD RELATED DEATHS OCCUR

AREA IS CANCELLED...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL EARLIER HAS SUBSIDED IN THE 
NABESNA AREA. HOWEVER...SMALL STREAMS IN THE AREA MAY RUN NEAR 
BANKFULL. A SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY WILL BE ISSUED IN ABSENCE OF 
THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING. 

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
