NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TUCSON AZ
817 PM MST SAT JUL 17 2004

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TUCSON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EAST CENTRAL PIMA COUNTY IN ARIZONA

* UNTIL 945 PM MST

* AT 815 PM MST...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT VERY 
  HEAVY RAINFALL HAS FALLEN ALONG HOUGHTON ROAD NEAR INTERSTATE 10 ON
  THE SOUTHEAST SIDE OF TUCSON.

A TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTER REPORTED THAT THE ROADWAY DIPS ALONG 
HOUGHTON ROAD...NEAR INTERSTATE 10 WERE FILLED WITH 2 TO 3 FEET OF 
RUNNING WATER. IN ADDITION...ROADWAY DIPS SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 10 
WERE REPORTED FILLED WITH 1 FOOT OF RUNNING WATER. 

RAINFALL RUNOFF WILL CONTINUE TO QUICKLY FILL INTO NORMALLY DRY 
WASHES AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS. DO NOT DRIVE INTO FLOODED AREAS OF 
AROUND BARRICADES. IF THE ROAD AHEAD IS BLOCKED...TURN AROUND AND 
TAKE ANOTHER ROUTE.

THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING UPGRADES AND REPLACES THE URBAN AND SMALL
STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR THIS AREA.
