THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  JASPER COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI.

* UNTIL 900 PM CDT.

* AT 546 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
  A CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS CENTRAL 
  JASPER COUNTY.  DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED THAT NEARLY THREE INCHES   
  OF RAIN HAS AFFECTED AREAS IN AND AROUND CARTHAGE.  THIS ACTIVITY  
  WAS NEARLY STATIONARY AND REDEVELOPING TO THE NORTHWEST.

* SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
  WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH
  FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING
  INCLUDE...AIRPORT DRIVE...ALBA...CARTERVILLE...CARTHAGE...
  ORONOGO...PURCELL...WEBB CITY...BROOKLYN HEIGHTS...LAKESIDE AND
  NECK CITY.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. 
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.  REMEMBER...FLASH FLOODING IS THE NUMBER ONE 
KILLER IN ALL WEATHER PHENOMENA.
