THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BLACKSBURG HAS EXTENDED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  PATRICK COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA

* UNTIL 615 AM EDT

* AT 413 AM EDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED 
  FLOODING AND MUDSLIDES ACROSS THE COUNTY. DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A 
  BAND OF EXTREMELY HEAVY RAIN EXITING THE COUNTY. MORE BANDS OF 
  HEAVY RAIN MAY MOVE INTO THE COUNTY AFTER 5:00 AM. RADAR AND 
  AUTOMATED RAIN GAGES SHOW THAT 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN 
  THE PAST 1 TO 2 HOURS.

* LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO  
  WOOLWINE...CRITZ...CHARITY AND BUFFALO RIDGE.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL IS CAUSING FLASH FLOODING OF 
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. 
ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF 
CREEKS...STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING.
