* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHWESTERN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
  HENRY COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL VIRGINIA
  MARTINSVILLE IN SOUTH CENTRAL VIRGINIA

* UNTIL 515 AM EDT

* AT 336 AM EDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED FLASH     
  FLOODING FROM A CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WARNED AREA. THE 
  STORMS PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING WERE NEARLY STATIONARY.  LOCAL LAW 
  ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES HAVE CLOSED A FEW ROADS ALONG BUFFALO AND     
  MATRIMONY CREEK IN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY AND MARROWBONE CREEK IN HENRY 
  COUNTY. AVERAGE RAINFALL IN THE WARNED AREA SINCE MIDNIGHT HAS     
  BEEN 3 TO 5 INCHES. MARROWBONE RESERVOIR IFLOWS GAGE REPORTED      
  NEARLY 7 INCHES OF RAIN SINCE MIDNIGHT.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL HAVE CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL 
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY
ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS...STREAMS AND OTHER LOW
LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE
UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
