SANTA CRUZ COUNTY IN CALIFORNIA * UNTIL 215 PM PST * AT 1111 AM PST...RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAIN APPROACHING SANTA CRUZ COUNTY. COUNTY OFFICIALS REPORTED THAT THE SAN LORENZO RIVER WAS RAPIDLY RISING AND COULD RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE. IN ADDITION...MUDSLIDES AND DOWNED TREES HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
