* AT 1215 PM CST...LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED 6 INCHES OF WATER 
STANDING ON ROADS IN AND AROUND SALEM.

* FLASH FLOODING CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS THE AREA...AND WILL BE   
AFFECTING SALEM...HELM AND KINMUNDY.

IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR IMMINENT...MOVE QUICKLY TO HIGHER

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR MARION COUNTY HAS EXPIRED...

WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT WHILE SHOWERS CONTINUE 
ACROSS MOST OF MARION COUNTY...THE THUNDERSTORMS WHICH PROMPTED THE 
FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAVE MOVED OUT OF THE AREA.  AT 440 PM...THE 
MARION COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE REPORTED THAT THE SIGNIFICANT FLOODING 
IN AND AROUND SALEM HAS DIMINISHED.

A FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE AREA THROUGH SATURDAY 
EVENING.  SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TONIGHT 
AND TOMORROW ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR 
MORE HEAVY RAINFALL.  ANY ADDITIONAL RAIN WHICH AFFECTS THE AREA 
WILL FALL ON SATURATED GROUND AND WOULD LIKELY PRODUCE ADDITIONAL 
FLOODING.
