* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ST. CHARLES COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MISSOURI
  ST. LOUIS COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MISSOURI
  ST. LOUIS CITY IN EAST CENTRAL MISSOURI

* UNTIL 200 AM CDT

* BETWEEN 10 AND 1030 PM...LAW ENFORCMENT IN ST. CHARLES AND 
  ST. LOUIS COUNTIES...AND ST. LOUIS CITY...REPORTED THAT
  FLOODING CONTINUED ACROSS THE AREA DUE TO THE HEAVY RAINS OF
  THURSDAY EVENING. 

* ALTHOUGH WATER LEVELS WILL BE RECEDING OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS...
  CAUTION SHOULD STILL BE USED WHEN APPROACHING AREAS PRONE TO 
  FLOODING DURING TIMES OF HEAVY RAIN...SUCH AS CONSTRUCTION ZONES
  AND UNDERPASSES.  CREEKS AND SMALL STREAMS WILL CONTINUE TO SWELL 
  EVEN THOUGH THE RAIN AS ENDED...DUE TO THE RUNOFF FROM THE EARLIER
  DOWNPOURS.

MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS IF WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. DO NOT DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...
ABANDON IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK HIGHER GROUND.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. ACT QUICKLY IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED. MOVE
TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT
TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
