THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ADAIR COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY
  CLINTON COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY
  CUMBERLAND COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY
  MONROE COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY
  RUSSELL COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY

* UNTIL 200 AM CST

* AT 955 PM CST...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR AND SPOTTERS 
INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. ONE TO TWO INCHES 
OF RAIN HAD FALLEN ACROSS THESE COUNTIES THROUGH 11 PM EST...AND AN 
ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE EXPECTED TO FALL THROUGH 1 AM. CALLS TO 
LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGERS INDICATE THAT WATER HAS BEGUN TO COVER 
LOW-LYING ROADWAYS.  

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED
ROADWAYS...IT MAY BE DIFFICULT TO JUDGE THE ACTUAL DEPTH OF THE
WATER. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER
GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.

RAIN IS RAPIDLY DIMINISHING ACROSS THE AFFECTED COUNTIES...AND 
LITTLE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS EXPECTED.  CALLS TO EMERGENCY 
MANAGERS INDICATED THAT NO MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRED.
