THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  RANKIN COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
  LINCOLN COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
  COPIAH COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI

* UNTIL 300 AM CST

* AT 1150 PM CST...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE
  SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVING OVER RANKIN...LINCOLN AND COPIAH 
  COUNTIES. RADAR ESTIMATES THAT 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN 
  THIS AREA. AN ADDITIONAL INCH OF RAIN COULD BE POSSIBLE UNTIL THE 
  SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FINALLY MOVE OFF TO THE EAST. SOILS ARE
  SATURATED AND ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL CREATE RUNOFF WHICH WILL
  ONLY AGGRAVATE EXISTING FLOODING THESE STORMS ARE MOVING OFF TO    
  THE NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE 
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.

MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
