THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PLEASANT HILL HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CENTRAL COOPER COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI

* UNTIL 1145 PM CST

* AT 1135 AM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE WARNED AREA.

* SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
  WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH
  FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING
  INCLUDE...PRAIRIE HOME...PLEASANT GREEN...PILOT GROVE...NEW
  LEBANON...LAMINE...BUNCETON AND BELLAIR.

DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED ONE AND A HALF TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAS 
FALLEN ACROSS NORTHERN COOPER COUNTY. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE 
RAINFALL WILL LEAD TO RAPID RISES...AND THE THREAT OF FLASH 
FLOODING...ON THE PETITE SALINE CREEK. 

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF HALF AN INCH TO AN INCH ARE POSSIBLE 
IN THE WARNED AREA THROUGH 2 PM.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE
BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING THAT WAS IN EFFECT FOR COOPER COUNTY HAS
BEEN CANCELLED...

EXCESS RUNOFF FROM THE RECENT HEAVY RAIN HAS ENDED OVER THE WARNED 
AREA. LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED ALL ROADS WHICH HAD 
BEEN CLOSED WERE NOW OPEN. THEREFORE THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS 
BEEN CANCELLED.

A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE PETITE SALINE CREEK NEAR 
BOONVILLE. PEOPLE WITH INTERESTS NEAR THE CREEK SHOULD CONTINUE TO 
USE CAUTION.
