KOSSUTH COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL IOWA. * UNTIL 1145 PM CDT. * AT 738 PM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN IN THE PAST 2 HOURS. * SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE WARNED AREA AND MAY CONTINUE TO DO SO UNTIL 11 PM. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...ALGONA...BANCROFT...ALGONA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT...BURT... AT 738 PM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED THAT EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WAS PRODUCING FLOODING ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WAS CAUSING FLASH FLOODING IN BANCROFT AND ALONG HIGHWAY 9 AND HIGHWAY 169 NORTH OF BANCROFT. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
