* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHWESTERN WAYNE COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA

* UNTIL 1115 PM

* AT 520 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED       
  FLASH FLOODING ALONG THE DICK AND STEEL CREEK BASINS IN WEST       
  CENTRAL WAYNE COUNTY.

* SIGNIFICANT RUNOFF INTO THE CREEK BASINS IS OCCURRING AS INTENSE   
  RAINFALL THIS AFTERNOON CONTINUES TO DECREASE. THE AREA OF CONCERN 
  IS PRIMARILY IN CLAY...RICKMAN...WASHINGTON AND BENTON TOWNSHIPS.  
  FLOODING OF COUNTY ROADS IS LIKELY...AS WELL AS HIGHWAY 2 BETWEEN  
  CORYDON AND LEON.

FLASH FLOODS OCCUR QUICKLY...MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. AVOID WATER 
COVERED ROADS...THE ROAD MAY BE WASHED OUT. LESS THAN ONE FOOT OF 
FAST FLOWING WATER CAN SWEEP AN AUTOMOBILE OFF THE ROAD.

AND NO ROAD FLOODING IS IN PROGRESS OR EXPECTED.  SOME FIELDS AND 
DITCHES ARE FULL DUE TO THE RUNOFF.
