THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WEST CENTRAL CLARK COUNTY IN SOUTHERN NEVADA

* UNTIL 345 PM PDT

* AT 1240 PM PDT...A WEATHER SPOTTER REPORTED VERY HEAVY RAIN AT
  THE TOWN OF MT. CHARLESTON. THE THUNDERSTORM PRODUCING THE RAIN
  WILL REMAIN NEARLY STATIONARY AND LIKELY POUR OVER AN INCH 
  PRECIPITATION ACROSS PARTS THE SPRINGS MOUNTAINS BY 2 PM.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF WASHES
AND NARROW CANYONS. THE HEAVY RAINS COULD ALSO TRIGGER ROCK AND 
MUDSLIDES IN STEEP TERRAIN. THOSE HIKING AND DRIVING IN THE SPRINGS 
MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHERN NEVADA NEED TO AVOID WASHES AND LOW LYING 
AREAS AND SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW.
