446 PM PDT TUE AUG 26 2003

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTH CENTRAL CLARK COUNTY IN SOUTHERN NEVADA

* UNTIL 745 PM PDT

* AT 440 PM PDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN FROM   
  SEARCHLIGHT TO NELSON LANDING. A WEATHER SPOTTER REPORTED VERY 
  HEAVY RAIN AND FLASH FLOODING IN SEARCHLIGHT. THE HEAVY RAIN
  PRODUCING STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH TOWARD LAKE MOHAVE.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF 
STREETS AND SECONDARY ROADS FROM SEARCHLIGHT TO NELSON LANDING.  
NORMALLY DRY WASHES WILL FILL QUICKLY WITH SWIFT FLOWING WATER AND 
WILL DRAIN INTO LAKE MOHAVE FROM WILLOW BEACH AND COTTONWOOD COVE.
THE HEAVY RAINS COULD ALSO TRIGGER ROCK AND MUDSLIDES IN STEEP 
TERRAIN.

BOATERS SHOULD STAY CLEAR OF AREAS WHERE WASHES EMPTY INTO LAKE 
MOHAVE ON THE NEVADA SIDE. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW AND DO NOT DRIVE 
THROUGH AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
