THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CENTRAL RILEY COUNTY IN NORTHEAST KANSAS

* UNTIL 1145 PM CDT

* AT 945 PM CDT...FLASH FLOODING WAS REPORTED ALONG MILL CREEK OVER 
BLUE RIVER HILLS ROAD ABOUT 8 MILES NORTHWEST OF MANHATTAN. WATER 
WAS REPORTED ABOUT TWO AND A HALF FEET DEEP AND FLOWING FAST ACROSS 
THE ROAD. LITTLE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS EXPECTED BUT FLOODING ALONG 
THE CREEK WILL CONTINUE THIS EVENING ACROSS BLUE RIVER HILLS ROAD.

* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE 
DANGERS OF FLOODING. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND...AWAY FROM RISING WATER.

RUNOFF FROM THE EARLIER RAINS WILL LIKELY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF 
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY ROADS 
AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND LOW LYING 
AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.

FLOODING HAS SUBSIDED ACROSS CENTRAL RILEY COUNTY. SOME ADDITIONAL 
RAINFALL IS LIKELY OVERNIGHT BUT IS NOT EXPECTED TO CAUSE FLASH 
FLOODING AT THIS TIME. THUS THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR CENTRAL 
RILEY COUNTY WILL NOT BE EXTENDED. 

REMEMBER TO BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO 
RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODING. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS WATER
