THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RUSKIN HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN AND WESTERN LEE COUNTY IN FLORIDA.

  FLOODING WILL AFFECT THE FOLLOWING CITIES.
  LEHIGH ACRES.
  FORT MYERS BEACH.
  FORT MYERS.
  CAPE CORAL.
  BONITA SPRINGS.

* UNTIL 630 PM EDT

* AT 330 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
THUNDERSTORMS GENERATING RAINFALL RATES OF UP TO 2 TO 3 INCHES PER 
HOUR HAVE DOWNPOURED ADDITIONAL LOCALIZED RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS 
AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES BETWEEN 1 PM AND 2 PM. ALTHOUGH THESE 
THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY WEAKEN DURING THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO...
STORM WATER RUNOFF FROM ALREADY SATURATED GROUND AND OVER TAXED 
STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEMS WILL LIKELY CAUSE LOCAL FLOODING PROBLEMS.  

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS AND
INTERSECTIONS. POOR DRAINAGE AREAS ARE MOST AT RISK. DO NOT DRIVE 
THROUGH FLOODED ROADS IT ONLY TAKES 2 FEET OF WATER TO FLOAT AN
AUTOMOBILE.
