114 ACUS11 KWNS 111800 SWOMCD SPC MCD 111759 TXZ000-111930- MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 1321 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 1259 PM CDT WED JUN 11 2003 AREAS AFFECTED...SWRN TX CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL VALID 111759Z - 111930Z CONVECTION DEVELOPING OVER THE MTNS OF SWRN TX WILL CONTINUE TO INTENSIFY AND MAY POSE A SEVERE THREAT OVER THE LOWER ELEVATIONS WITHIN THE NEXT 1-2 HOURS. A TORNADO WATCH MAY BE NEEDED IN THE NEXT HOUR OR SO. LATEST VISIBLE/MAF RADAR IMAGERY INDICATES INITIAL THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT OCCURRING OVER THE MTNS OF SRN PECOS COUNTY. VERY UNSTABLE AIRMASS EXISTS EAST OF THE CONVECTION WITH MLCAPES FROM 2500-3500 J/KG. LOW LEVEL FLOW REMAINS BACKED OVER THE LOWER PECOS RIVER VALLEY/MIDDLE RIO GRANDE RIVER VALLEY AND THIS SHOULD CONTINUE FOCUSED CONVERGENCE INTO DEVELOPING CONVECTION ALONG SFC DRYLINE. STRONG UPPER LEVEL DIVERGENCE WITH APPROACHING SUBTROPICAL JET OVER NRN MEXICO SHOULD FURTHER AID CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT/INTENSIFICATION OF CONVECTION OVER SWRN TX DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS.
