EAST CENTRAL WASHINGTON COUNTY IN UTAH * UNTIL MIDNIGHT MDT A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY AUTOMOBILE. IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS, ABANDON IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK HIGHER GROUND. THE HEAVY RAIN STORM THAT PROMPTED THIS WARNING ARE MOVING OUT OF THE AREA. HOWEVER WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAIN HAS BEEN INDICATED BY RADAR OVER THE DRAINAGES FOR LA VERKIN CREEK AND NORTH CREEK. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT IT WILL TAKE UNTIL LATE THIS EVENING FOR ALL OF THE THE RUNOFF TO REACH THE TOWNS OF LA VERKIN AND VIRGIN. RESIDENTS IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS ALONG THESE CREEKS SHOULD MONITOR THE STREAM FLOWS CLOSELY AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE QUICK ACTION IF NEEDED.
