SOUTHWESTERN MONROE COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL ALABAMA EAST CENTRAL CLARKE COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA * UNTIL 1015 PM CDT * AT 728 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAIN JUST NORTH OF JACKSON...BARLOW BEND...FRISCO CITY LINE. THE HEAVIEST RAIN HAD FALLEN 4 MILES NORTHWEST OF BARLOW BEND...OR 15 MILES SOUTHEAST OF GROVE HILL...WHERE RADAR ESTIMATES OF 3 TO 4 INCHES IN A ONE HOUR PERIOD HAD OCCURRED. THESE STORMS WERE DRIFTING TO THE SOUTHEAST AT ONLY 5 MPH. * SOME LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE GAINESTOWN...MANILLA... MANISTEE...AND WALKER SPRINGS EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
