FLASH FLOOD WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LOUISVILLE KY
1057 PM EDT MON MAY 5 2003

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  HARRISON COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL KENTUCKY

* UNTIL 145 AM EDT

AT 1045 PM EDT HARRISON COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IN CYNTHIANA 
REPORTED CONTINUED FLOODING PROBLEMS COUNTYWIDE. THIS IS DUE TO 
RAINFALL IN EXCESS OF 3 INCHES IN MANY PARTS OF THE COUNTY SINCE 7 
PM EDT. THE WORST FLOODING PROBLEMS ARE OCCURRING IN NORTHERN 
HARRISON COUNTY WHERE BRIDGES ARE WASHED OUT ON NUMEROUS COUNTY 
ROADS. SEVERAL CITY ROADS IN CYNTHIANA ARE STILL CLOSED DUE TO 
STANDING WATER. 

NO RAIN IS OCCURRING IN THE AREA HOWEVER ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORM 
ACTIVITY MAY DEVELOP AFTER 3 AM EDT. ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL LATE 
TONIGHT COULD AGGRAVATE CURRENT FLOODING PROBLEMS. 

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE 
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED 
ROADWAYS...IT MAY BE DIFFICULT TO JUDGE THE ACTUAL DEPTH OF THE 
WATER. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER 
GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.

RELAY YOUR REPORT TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE IN
LOUISVILLE.
