THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAKE CHARLES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ACADIA PARISH IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA

* UNTIL 545 PM CDT

* AT 243 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED
  THAT 4 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS SOUTHEAST ACADIA 
  PARISH DURING THE PAST 3 TO 4 HOURS. HEAVY-RAIN PRODUCING 
  THUNDERSTORMS HAVE MOVED AWAY FROM THE AREA...BUT CONTINUING LIGHT 
  TO OCCASIONALLY MODERATE RAIN COULD PRODUCE AN ADDITIONAL 
  HALF-INCH OF RAIN THROUGH 6 PM.

FLOODING HAS BEEN REPORTED IN SOUTH CROWLEY NEAR...WITH WATER UP TO 
THE HOODS OF CARS. FLOOD WATERS ARE BEGINNING TO ENTER BUILDINGS AS 
WELL. THE CONTINUING RAINFALL WILL ONLY AGGRAVATE THE ONGOING 
FLOODING PROBLEMS...AND ADDITIONAL FLOODING IS POSSIBLE.

HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS AND LOW LYING AREAS RAPIDLY...SO DO NOT DRIVE
YOUR VEHICLE WHERE WATERS OF AN UNKNOWN DEPTH COVERS THE ROAD. 
REMEMBER...MOST FLOOD RELATED DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.
