* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  RANKIN COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI

* UNTIL 605 PM CDT

* AT 404 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LARGE CLUSTER
OF THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF 
RANKIN COUNTY. RADAR ESTIMATES THAT 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN 
OVER RANKIN COUNTY...AND ADDITIONAL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES WILL BE 
POSSIBLE AS THUNDERSTORMS MOVE OVER THE SAME AREAS REPEATEDLY. 
RANKIN COUNTY HAS BEEN INUNDATED WITH RAINFALL FOR THE PAST FEW 
DAYS...AND WITH THE GROUND SATURATED ANY ADDITIONAL RAINS WILL 
CREATE RUNOFF. 

ADDITIONAL RAINS WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND 
STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND 
FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING 
AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.

RANKIN COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI

AT 510 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADARS INDICATED 
CONTINUED MODERATE RAINFALL OVER THE EAST HALF OF THE COUNTY... 
ESPECIALLY EAST OF A SAND HILL TO PINEY WOODS LINE.  THUNDERSTORM 
INTENSITIES WERE DIMINISHING WITH RAINFALL RATES DROPPING TO ONE 
QUARTER INCH OR LESS PER HOUR.  RUNOFF SHOULD GRADUALLY SUBSIDE BY 
AROUND 6 PM IF CURRENT TRENDS CONTINUE AND THE WARNING WILL EXPIRE 
AS SCHEDULED.
