THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PLEASANT HILL HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WESTERN JACKSON COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI
  NORTHEASTERN JOHNSON COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS

* UNTIL 1145 AM CDT

* AT 838 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AN
  AREA OF HEAVY RAINFALL MOVING INTO THE INDIAN CREEK RIVER BASIN.
  AROUND 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN SINCE 2 AM OVER THE REGION AND
  AN ADDITIONAL ONE HALF TO ONE INCH OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE THROUGH
  11 AM. 

* HEAVY RAIN CONTINUES TO FALL ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM
  THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME
  LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...PRAIRIE
  VILLAGE...OVERLAND PARK...MISSION...MERRIAM...LEAWOOD AND ROELAND
  PARK.

AT 8:15 AM THE STAGE AT OVERLAND PARK WAS 11.95 FEET. FLOOD STAGE IS 
12.0 FEET. THE FLOOD CREST IS EXPECTED TO REACH 13 FEET BY 10:30 AM 
ON INDIAN CREEK IN OVERLAND PARK.
