THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DODGE CITY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN BARBER COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS

* UNTIL 100 AM CDT

* AT 956 PM CDT LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED FLOODING ON 
HIGHWAY K2 BETWEEN HIGHWAY 281 AND KIOWA, ALSO ON HARDNTER SHORTCUT 
ROAD NORTH OF HARDTNER.

DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS STILL MOVING ACROSS 
SOUTHERN BARBER COUNTY AND THEY SHOULD MOVE OUT BY MIDNIGHT. RADAR 
ESTIMATED 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN THE LAST SEVERAL 
HOURS. 

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
