THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE PA HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  YORK COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA

* UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT.

* AT 954 PM EDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED FLOODING 
  WAS CONTINUING IN FAR SOUTHERN YORK COUNTY.

HEAVY RAINFALL...WHICH HAS SINCE ENDED...HAS CAUSED FLASH FLOODING 
IN THE SOUTHERN YORK COUNTY NEAR FAWN GROVE AND PEACH BOTTOM 
TOWNSHIP.  ROADS REMAIN CLOSED DUE TO HIGH WATER...AND MANY HOMES 
HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY FLOOD WATERS. THE WATER HAS BEGUN TO RECEDE A 
BIT...BUT CLOSE MONITORING OF THE SITUATION IS NECESSARY...THEREFORE 
THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL MIDNIGHT. 

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED. MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT. NEVER ATTEMPT TO CROSS HIGH WATER IN A VEHICLE OR ON FOOT
