THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CLEVELAND HAS 

* EXTENDED THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  PORTAGE COUNTY IN NORTHEAST OHIO...

* IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM EDT

* AT 525 PM EDT WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED...SHOWERS AND 
POSSIBLE THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY OVER THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE COUNTY. 
SOME OF THE SHOWERS MAY HAVE HEAVY RAINS ASSOCIATED WITH THEM AND 
WITH ALREADY SATURATED GROUND AND FLOODING ALREADY OCCURRING THE 
POTENTIAL FOR MORE FLOODING WILL STRETCH INTO THE EVENING HOURS. 
THE WET WEATHER IS SHOWING LITTLE SIGNS OF MOVING BUT DURING THE 
PAST 2 HOURS THE INTENSITY AND AREAL COVERAGE HAS BEEN SHRINKING.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THESE STORMS WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY
ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER
LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
