* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ORLEANS COUNTY IN NORTHEAST VERMONT
  ESSEX COUNTY IN NORTHEAST VERMONT

* UNTIL 915 AM EDT.

* AT 608 AM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A 
  CLUSTER OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL THAT 
  CONTINUES TO MOVE OVER A NORTH TROY TO NEWPORT TO EAST CHARLESTON 
  TO ISLAND POND LINE.

DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN TWO AND THREE 
INCHES HAVE OCCURRED OVER THE PAST TWO HOURS.

AT 805 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL 10 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF NEWPORT...OR ABOUT OVER IRASBURG...MOVING EAST AT 5 MPH.

THE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN WILL BE NEAR...
  EXIT 26 I91 AT 820 AM.
  ORLEANS AT 830 AM.
  BROWNINGTON AND BARTON AT 835 AM.
  WESTMORE AND EAST CHARLESTON AT 900 AM.

SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH
FLOODING IN BARTON...ISLAND POND...AND EAST HAVEN.

THE STATE POLICE REPORTED FLOODING NEAR THE TOWN CLERKS OFFICE IN 
EAST CHARLESTON AT 700 AM. ALSO...NUMEROUS SPOTS OF WATER CROSSING 
COUNTY ROUTE 242 AND STATE HIGHWAY 105. COOP OBSERVER AT JAY PEAK 
REPORTED 2.00 INCHES OF RAIN THIS MORNING IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.
