THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BURLINGTON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WASHINGTON COUNTY IN CENTRAL VERMONT

* UNTIL 715 PM EDT.

* AT 420 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED OVER 
  TWO INCHES OF RAINFALL IN WAITSFIELD AND MORETOWN IN WASHINGTON 
  COUNTY.

VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IS OCCURRING IN THE WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS
EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING ALONG TRIBUTARIES TO 
THE THE MAD RIVER EAST OF ROUTE 100...SUCH AS HIGH BRIDGE 
BROOK...PINE BROOK...AND ALONG THE MORETOWN MOUNTAIN ROAD.

SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS WILL RAPIDLY FLOOD...POSSIBLY WASHING OUT
ROADS AND FLOODING NEARBY LOW AREAS.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT. NEVER ATTEMPT TO CROSS HIGH WATER IN A VEHICLE OR ON FOOT

CANCELLED...

THE HEAVY RAIN HAS MOVED OUT OF WASHINGTON COUNTY...ENDING THE FLASH 
FLOOD THREAT. ALTHOUGH CREEKS AND STREAMS WILL RECEDE THROUGH THE 
EVENING...SOME ROADWAYS STILL MAY BE COVERED WITH WATER. 

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. OBEY ALL ROAD CLOSURE SIGNS...THEY ARE THERE FOR YOUR 
SAFETY.
