THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BROWNSVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CAMERON COUNTY IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS

* UNTIL 930 AM CDT

* AT 740 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
  SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL        
  OCCURRING JUST SOUTH OF THE RIO GRANDE RIVER OVER THE NORTHEAST    
  CORNER OF MEXICO. THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING      
  NORTH AT AROUND 15 MPH AND ARE PRODUCING RAINFALL RATES NEAR ONE   
  INCH AN HOUR. THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE INTO       
  SOUTHERN CAMERON COUNTY AROUND 8 AM.     

* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO   
  OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...PORT 
  ISABEL...SAN BENITO...LA FERIA...HARLINGEN...BROWNSVILLE...SOUTH   
  PADRE ISLAND...SANTA ROSA...RIO HONDO...RANCHO VIEJO...LOS         
  FRESNOS...LAGUNA VISTA AND LAGUNA HEIGHTS.

FLASH FLOODING IN CAMERON COUNTY IS IMMINENT. MOST FLOOD RELATED 
DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS WATER COVERED 
BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A 
FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER 
MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
