THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BROWNSVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  HIDALGO COUNTY IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS

* UNTIL 700 PM CDT

* AT 600 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE WARNED AREA.     
  DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED NEARLY 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL SOUTH OF       
  MCCOOK AND BETWEEN SULLIVAN CITY AND MCALLEN.

* SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
  WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH
  FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING
  INCLUDE...HIDALGO...SAN MANUEL...MCCOOK...PHARR...MISSION...
  MCALLEN...EDINBURG...PENITAS AND PALMVIEW.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE 
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO 
CROSS SAFELY. TURN AROUND DONT DROWN IF YOUR VEHICLE IS CAUGHT IN 
RISING WATER ABANDONED THE VEHICLE QUICKLY AND MOVE TO TO HIGHER 
GROUND.
