THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHWEST CHESHIRE COUNTY IN SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE     

* UNTIL 900 PM EDT.

* AT 653 PM EDT...MODERATE CONTINUED TO FALL OVER NORTHWEST CHESHIRE 
COUNTY...ALTHOUGH IT IS BEGINNING TO DIMINISH.  THE RAIN SHOULD COME 
TO AN END OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS.  HOWEVER...RUNOFF FROM THE 
EXTREMELY HEAVY RAIN OF THE PAST FEW HOURS...WILL CONTINUE TO CAUSE 
FLASH FLOODING. 

HERE ARE SOME REPORTS OF THE FLOODING THAT ALREADY HAS OCCURRED.  AT 
625 PM...IN CHESTERFIELD THERE WAS FLOODING ON SPOSFARD LAKE...AND A 
CAR WAS TRAPPED ON A BRIDGE OVER THE LAKE ON ROUTE 63.  AT 650 PM IN 
WESTMORELAND A MILL BROOK WAS OUT OF ITS BANKS AND APPROACHING A 
HOUSE.    

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. 
IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO RIVERS AND 
STREAMS. EVEN THE SMALLEST STREAMS CAN BECOME KILLERS IN TORRENTIAL 
RAINS.

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER ATTEMPT TO CROSS
BRIDGES OR ROADS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. IT ONLY TAKES A FOOT
OR TWO OF WATER TO WASH MOST CARS AWAY.
