BENT COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST COLORADO OTERO COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST COLORADO * UNTIL 515 PM MDT * AT 312 PM MDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS 16 MILES NORTH OF HIGBEE...OR ABOUT 6 MILES EAST OF LA JUNTA...MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 35 MPH. * SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED WILL BE... LA JUNTA THROUGH HASTY THROUGH 320 PM... HIGBEE AROUND 320 PM MDT. A REPORT OF WINDS GUSTING TO 86 MPH OCCORRED AT THE WEATHER STATION AT LA JUNTA AT 255 PM. AT THIS TIME THE MOST LIKELY KIND OF SEVERE WEATHER IS HAIL ONE TO TWO INCHES IN DIAMETER AND DAMAGING WINDS OVER 70 MPH. GET INDOORS AND IN AN INTERIOR ROOM AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
