THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX HAS ISSUED A
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
CENTRAL MARICOPA COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL ARIZONA. THIS INCLUDES
THE GREATER PHOENIX AREA.
* UNTIL 11 PM MST
* AT 910 PM MST...LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN CONTINUED TO FALL ACROSS
CENTRAL PHOENIX. SEVERAL RAINGAUGES OVER CENTRAL AND NORTHERN
PHOENIX...AS WELL AS NORTH SCOTTSDALE...HAVE REPORTED RAINFALLS IN
EXCESS OF 1 INCH DURING THE PAST HOUR...AND PHOENIX DOPPLER RADAR
INDICATES THAT IN EXCESS OF 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER NORTH
PHOENIX AND NORTH SCOTTSDALE. AT 9 PM...A SPOTTER NEAR 60TH STREET
AND DYNAMITE...IN THE CAREFREE-CAVE CREEK AREA REPORTED SEVERE
STREET FLOODING...WITH WASHES IN THE AREA WELL OUT OF THEIR BANKS.
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO
GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS
THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG
STREAMS...WASHES...AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE
