000 WFUS51 KPHI 131925 FFWPHI PAC011-132100- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED/CORRECTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOUNT HOLLY NJ 304 PM EDT MON MAY 13 2002 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY NJ HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR... SOUTHEASTERN BERKS COUNTY IN EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA * UNTIL 500 PM EDT. * AT 259 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A SERIES OF THUNDERSTORMS THAT CONTINUED TO MOVE THROUGH THE SAME REGION OF BERKS COUNTY. RADAR STORM ESTIMATES HAVE REACHED TWO INCHES IN AN HOUR WITH AN ADDITIONAL ONE TO TWO INCHES POSSIBLE IF THE STORMS KEEP ON TRAINING THROUGH 4 PM. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
