NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TWIN CITIES/CHANHASSEN MN
1245 PM CDT THU JUL 18 2002

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE TWIN CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  GOODHUE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA

* UNTIL 400 PM CDT

* AT 1245 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN
  OVER SOUTHERN GOODHUE COUNTY. THESE STORMS WERE PRODUCING RAINFALL 
  RATES UP TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR. ANOTHER HEAVY THUNDERSTORM OVER   
  EASTERN RICE COUNTY WILL MOVE INTO SOUTHERN GOODHUE COUNTY AFTER 1 
  PM. SOME CITIES AFFECTED BY THIS TORRENTIAL RAIN WILL BE           
  ZUMBROTA...KENYON...AND PINE ISLAND.

* TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OVER PORTIONS OF GOODHUE COUNTY COULD EXCEED
  THREE INCHES IN JUST A FEW HOURS TIME. THIS WILL CAUSE URBAN       
  FLOODING...AND RAPID RISES OF SMALL STREAMS AND DRAINAGE DITCHES.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER
COVERS THE ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
