THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EDDY COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO

* UNTIL 1230 AM MDT

* AT 923 PM MDT...THE EDDY COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE REPORTED PORTIONS 
OF STATE ROAD 2 AND U.S. HIGHWAY 285 ARE CLOSED NORTH OF ARTESIA.  
WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATES SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE 
IN THESE AREAS...WITH ESTIMATED RAINFALL RATES AROUND ONE INCH PER 
HOUR.  ADDITIONAL FLOODING OF ROADWAYS AND LOW LYING AREAS WILL 
PERSIST THROUGH MIDNIGHT MDT.    

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS DIFFICULT TO RECOGNIZE
FLOOD DANGERS. DO NOT DRIVE INTO FLOODED AREAS.
