THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LUBBOCK HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHWEST LUBBOCK COUNTY IN NORTHWEST TEXAS

* UNTIL 400 AM CDT

* AT 105 AM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY 
  RAIN OVER MUCH OF NORTHWEST AND NORTHERN LUBBOCK COUNTY.

THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY REPORTED FLOODING IN AND NEAR 
SHALLOWATER IN NORTHWEST LUBBOCK COUNTY. SOME ROADS WERE 
IMPASSABLE. RADAR ESTIMATED RAINFALL FROM LATE YESTERDAY THROUGH 
1 AM THIS MORNING SHOWS WIDESPREAD TOTALS OF 2 INCHES OVER A LARGE 
PART OF NORTHWEST LUBBOCK COUNTY...WITH ESTIMATES AS HIGH AS 4 TO 5 
INCHES APPROXIMATELY 3 TO 5 MILES NORTHWEST OF SHALLOWATER. MORE 
RAIN IS EXPECTED THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS OVER THIS AREA.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
