NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LOUISVILLE KY

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  GRAYSON COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY

* UNTIL 700 AM CST

* NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUES TO INDICATE BANDS 
OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINS OVER GRAYSON COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL 
KENTUCKY. SINCE 500 PM MONDAY EVENING...RADAR HAS ESTIMATED THAT 
FROM ONE TO TWO AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER PARTS OF 
GRAYSON COUNTY. THE HEAVIEST RAINS HAVE FALLEN GENERALLY NORTH OF 
THE WESTERN KENTUCKY PARKWAY TOWARDS ROUGH RIVER LAKE. THIS IS WHERE 
THE GREATEST THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING IS. NUMEROUS ADDITIONAL HEAVY 
RAIN SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE THROUGH GRAYSON 
COUNTY WITH RAINFALL RATES FROM ONE HALF TO ONE INCH PER HOUR. THESE 
ADDITIONAL RAINS WILL SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE THE THREAT FOR FLASH 
FLOODING.

* SOME LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE LEITCHFIELD...PINE 
KNOB...SHORT CREEK...YEAMAN...AND CANEYVILLE.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED
ROADWAYS...IT MAY BE DIFFICULT TO JUDGE THE ACTUAL DEPTH OF THE
WATER. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER
GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.
