THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LINCOLN HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SCOTT COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS

* UNTIL 700 AM CDT

* AT 1240 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR
  INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN MOVING 
  THROUGH THE AREA. RADAR WAS ESTIMATING RAINFALL RATES EXCEEDING
  2 INCHES AN HOUR WITH THESE STORMS. 

* THUNDERSTORMS WITH EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE ACROSS
  THE AREA THROUGH AT LEAST 4 AM. RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES
  AN HOUR WILL BE LIKELY. THESE RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY 
  PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING...ESPECIALLY SINCE SOILS ARE ALREADY
  SATURATED FROM EARLIER HEAVY RAINS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODS. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT AT NIGHT TO JUDGE HOW
MUCH WATER COVERS ROADWAYS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS.
