* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CHRISTIAN COUNTY IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS
  SANGAMON COUNTY IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS
  MACON COUNTY IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS
  LOGAN COUNTY IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS
  SCOTT COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS

* AT 354 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  VERY HEAVY RAIN HAS FALLEN FROM JACKSONVILLE TO SPRINGFIELD TO
  LINCOLN IN THE PAST HOUR. UP TO ONE AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN HAS
  BEEN ESTIMATED SINCE 3 AM.

* THUNDERSTORMS WITH EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE ACROSS CENTRAL
  ILLINOIS THIS MORNING. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY 
  RANGE FROM 1 TO 2 INCHES MORE BY 6 AM. THESE RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL 
  LIKELY PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
IF IN A FLOOD PRONE AREA...MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG CREEKS AND STREAMS ARE ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE
TO THE EFFECTS OF FLASH FLOODING. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED
AREAS BY FOOT OR AUTOMOBILE.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODS. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT AT NIGHT TO JUDGE HOW
MUCH WATER COVERS ROADWAYS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS.
