THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HONOLULU HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR PERSONS IN THE...
  HILO...PUNA AND KAU DISTRICT ON THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII
	 
* UNTIL 5 PM HST
	
* AT 145 PM HST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR
  INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAINFALL OVER THE ENTIRE SOUTHEAST PORTION OF 
  THE BIG ISLAND WHERE RAINFALL OF 6 TO 12 INCHES HAVE BEEN OCCURING 
  DURING THE PAST FEW HOURS.
   
* HEAVY SHOWERS WITH EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL BE OVER THE KAU PUNA 
  AND HILO AREAS DURING THE NEXT FEW HOURS.

FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED IN LOW LYING AREAS DURING THE NEXT 
THREE HOURS. PERSONS IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD MOVE TO HIGHER 
GROUND.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT. 
PERSONS IN THE HILO PUNA AND KAU DISTRICTS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE 
ACTION TO  PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY AND SEEK HIGHER GROUND OR 
REMAIN INDOORS.
