  NORTHERN MADISON COUNTY IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA

* AT 1227 PM EST...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED           
  MODERATE RAIN MOVING ACROSS THE NORTHERN PART OF MADISON COUNTY.   
  STREAMS AND CREEKS IN THE LITTLE LAUREL AND BIG CREEK AREAS ARE    
  ALREADY AT BANKFULL. WITH MORE RAIN EXPECTED CREEKS AND STREAMS ARE

MADISON COUNTY...

STREAMS IN THE NORTHERN PART OF MADISON COUNTY ARE STILL AT 
BANKFULL. LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN IS FALLING NOW AND IS EXPECTED TO 
CONTINUE THROUGH LATE AFTERNOON BEFORE TAPERING OFF. PERSONS LIVING 
IN OR NEAR THE LITTLE LAUREL AND BEAR CREEK AREAS SHOULD KEEP AN EYE 
ON THESE CREEKS. 

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED. MOVE TO HIGHER
GROUND. EVEN MODERN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES CAN BE SWEPT AWAY BY A FEW
FEET OF WATER.
