WOODBURY COUNTY IN NORTHWEST IOWA * UNTIL 530 AM CDT * AT 218 AM CDT.....LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTS THAT STREET FLOODING CONTINUES...ESPECIALLY IN LOW LYING AREAS. THE HEAVY RAIN HAS ENDED ACROSS THE SIOUX CITY AREA. BUT WITH RAINFALL OF 3 TO 5 INCHES AROUND SIOUX CITY...CONTINUED RUNOFF WILL RESULT IN STREET FLOODING AND SOME FLOODING OF BASEMENTS. IN ADDITION...HEAVY RAINFALL HAS OCCURRED IN THE PERRY CREEK BASIN IN SOUTHWESTERN PLYMOUTH COUNTY. AT THIS TIME...PERRY CREEK REMAINS BELOW FLOOD STAGE. HOWEVER...PERSONS IN THE VICINITY OF PERRY CREEK WILL WANT TO MONITOR FUTURE STATEMENTS SHOULD THE WATER RISE RAPIDLY IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.
