THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND FORKS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...

  EASTERN POLK COUNTY IN NORTHWEST MINNESOTA AND
  EASTERN RED LAKE COUNTY IN NORTHWEST MINNESOTA.

* UNTIL 815 AM CDT.

* AT 205 AM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN OVER EASTERN POLK AND EASTERN RED
  LAKE COUNTIES. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 10 MPH.

* MENTOR...ERSKINE...MCINTOSH AND BROOKS WILL BE AFFECTED BY
  THE HEAVY RAIN. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS 
  ESTIMATING RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF THREE TO FIVE INCHES ACROSS
  THIS AREA. WITH RECENT HEAVY RAINFALL OVER PORTIONS OF THIS
  AREA...ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL RAPIDLY RUNOFF AND CAUSE
  ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS.

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR
VEHICLE INTO WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH. ONE OR TWO FEET OF WATER WILL
FLOAT MOST CARS DOWNSTREAM.
